Jamie Hawke – 2017 Update

August 2017 – Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) Aviation Training Update.

Since re-enlisting Jamie has all but completed three course analysis, design and development being:

Flight Deck Officer (FDO)

Helicopter Transfer Officer (HTO)

Helicopter Transfer Party (HTP)

The learning outcomes from the completed AD&D are now being used to determine the type of Simulation required to support the three courses.  Jamie is now the lead for defining user requirements and researching what simulation is currently avialable on the market.  At this point Jamie has identified Virtual Reality (VR) and a Practical Fight Deck Trainer as the two types of simulation to possibly support all the learning outcomes.

Another challenge as the project gains traction is completing a business case study to determine resources required to deliver the training and establishment of trainer positions.
