Celia Tioeli

MERT Instructor Celia TioeliCelia has been involved in the in the Maritime Industry since 1998.  She possesses a complete array of Seamanship qualifications and has a sound instructional understanding of what is expected at sea. She is highly competent at emergency first aid and is well versed as a Rapid Emergency Response Instructor.

She spends much of her time conducting rapid emergency response induction and refresher training for the New Zealand Defence Force, HM Customs, Auckland Coastguard and the New Zealand Fire Service.  Celia’s training focus is on fire fighting, flood control and dealing with those substances classified within the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code of Practice.

Celia compliments the above qualifications as a Occupational Safety and Health specialist and not only applies these skills in a maritime environment but also ashore in port facilities and land based commercial environments. She is very personable and conveys this well, through her approach to practical and theory based instruction and this attribute definitely helps to create the desired calm and collectiveness for students as she progresses them through training.

Celia is a busy mother of a little girl and both her and her partner who is also in the maritime industry make good use of their spare time when they both are not traveling.  Celia is very active and enjoys participating in any sport, but particularly enjoys basketball.
