Matt Newbold

Matt has been involved in the maritime industry since 1992.

He is a highly qualified Marine Engineer and has a diverse range of  engineering skills and experience, covering; Diesel Engines, Gas Turbines, Power Generation Systems, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Plants, Air Compressors, Reverse Osmosis, Sewage Treatment Plants, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems and Rescue Boats.

Matt has spent time with the US Navy undertaking specialist diesel training and as result has worked extensively as an integral member of a number of Maritime Evaluation Teams, ensuring that vessels through stringent crew and mechanical evaluation function safely before they proceed to sea and whilst at sea.

He also is a qualified Maritime Emergency Response Instructor and this coupled with his well practiced Advanced Casualty Care qualifications makes him a multi skilled and very effective member of the MERT Team.

Matt is married and has two kids and a Boxer dog. He spends his spare time fishing, hunting, and surfing and is an avid D.I.Y’er.
